“…The average number of juveniles per brood produced by females of C. mizani in this study is generally low compared with the numbers produced by females of other species of amphipod: In Elasmopus levis , the average is 22.3 juveniles per brood (Borowsky, 1986); in Parhyale hawaiensis , 12.8 (Vargas‐Abúndez et al, 2021); in Grandidierella halophila , 20.8 (Shahin et al, 2023); in Victoriopisa (= Eriopisa ) chilkensis , 13.7 (Aravind et al, 2007); in Caprella scaura , 36.3 (Baeza‐Rojano, Calero‐Cano, et al, 2013); and in Cymadusa filosa , 20.00 (Hamed et al, 2016). However, we found that the number of juveniles per brood was higher than the numbers reported by Vargas‐Abúndez et al (2021) and Baeza‐Rojano et al (2011) for the amphipods E. pectenicrus (6.5 juveniles per brood) and Caprella grandimana (5.0 juveniles per brood), respectively.…”
