One of the types of tofu industries in Indonesia is that the small-scale tofu industry was located in the East Jombor, Ketapang Village, to be precise, on the Blorong River. The Simplified Tofu Industry, with a 1300 kg/day production capacity, produces liquid waste that is disposed of into the Blorong River with a BOD parameter of 2,726 mg/L, COD of 4,972 mg/L, and TSS of 388 mg/L.These values greatly exceed the quality standards based on the Regional Regulation of Central Java Province Number 10 of 2004 concerning Tofu Industry. The entry of these pollutants into the Blorong River, over time, can cause water bodies to become toxic and pollute the Blorong River. Therefore, one of the efforts to protect this river's environmental conditions is to increase the efficiency of the Wastewater treatment plant and substitute the determined fuel through alternative scenarios. In the MBBR scenario, substituting diesel fuel into biomass is a type of biodiesel. Biodiesel has an advantage for the fire tube boiler industry because it can reduce exhaust emissions compared to diesel. Meanwhile, the existing wastewater treatment is substituted for the MBBR unit. The choice of MBBR as a wastewater treatment unit is because it is economical, does not require large land, is simple in development design, and is accessible in operation and maintenance. In the second scenario (SBR), a transition of Diesel fuel to LPG. LPG as a fuel input in the cooking process will result in cleaner emissions, especially on the SO2 parameter, and better because it has a higher heating value than diesel, 47,3 Tj/Gg. Both scenarios are analyzed regarding the magnitude of the impact on the environment using the OpenLCA method. The resulting impact magnitude on the OpenLCA method from each alternative is evaluated to obtain the best scenario. In the Tofu Industry, the best design the resulting impact is smaller than the SBR alternative.

Sampah adalah hal yang selalu kita temukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Keberadaannya yang kian bertambah seiring dengan perubahan zaman dan perkembangan pola konsumsi penduduk menjadikan sampah sebagai suatu masalah yang sangat rentan terjadi di masyarakat. Adanya sampah yang terus-menerus dihasilkan lama kelamaan akan menumpuk dan memberikan dampak buruk bagi lingkungan, apabila tidak dengan segera dilakukan pengolahan. Masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak perlu untuk mengetahui tentang pentingnya memiliki kepedulian terhadap memilah dan mengolah sampah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi anak-anak agar mulai terbiasa untuk memilah dan mengolah sampah sejak usia dini. Sasaran dalam pengabdian ini adalah anak-anak Sekolah Dasar MI Yahya di Kota Bekasi. Melalui pengabdian ini diharapkan anak-anak dapat mengolah sampahnya sendiri di kemudian hari. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah berupa persentasi materi tentang perbedaan sampah kering dan sampah basah, tata cara memilah dan mengelompokkan sampah sesuai jenisnya. Didemonstrasikan salah satu metode pengolahan sampah yang sederhana yang dapat mereka lakukan dengan sendirinya, yaitu metode Takakura. Hasil dari kegitan ini menunjukkan adanya rutinitas pengolahan sampah dengan metode Takakura yang dilakukan ke masyarakat sasar.

Highlight Research:The potential calorific value of marine debris obtained from calculating the total waste is 12.05 MJ/kg, which still falls within the incinerator application's standard criteria. AbstractMarine debris, a global environmental issue today, is a major threat to Bali’s seas which are famous for its natural beauty and aggravated by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of marine debris in Bali Island, especially in the southern region and to analyze the feasibility of incineration as one of the waste treatment processes. This research was conducted by utilizing secondary data and literature reviews from related previous studies. Water content and caloric value were measured directly using the ASTM E 790-15 and ASTM D 5865-11a standards. Marine debris generation from 2013 to 2019 tends to decrease from 1.22 kg/km.day to 0.46 kg/km.day. Organic waste (59.4%) comprised the largest marine debris followed by plastic waste (13.4%) and diapers (11.9%). Thermal technology such as incineration can be introduced to treat marine debris. The standard application of incinerator technology is moisture content and caloric value. The water content of marine debris is reportedly 54.56%, therefore, further preliminary processing is needed, especially for waste with high moisture content, such as diapers and organic waste. The potential calorific value of marine debris during the COVID-19 pandemic obtained from calculating the total waste was 12.05 MJ/kg which still did not meet the incinerator application's standard criteria.
