“…The fitted coupling constant is furthermore in good agreement with other Eu 3+ compounds in the literature (EuF 3 : λ = 490 K; EuBO 3 : λ = 471 K [26] ). Similar magnetic behavior has been observed for Eu 2 Ir 2 O 7 , [27] LiEuMo 2 O 8 , [18] Eu 2 Cl 5 (OH)(H 2 O)(terpy), [28] Sr 2 EuNbO 6 , [29] EuOOH, [30] or EuPO 4 . [17]…”

“…The spectrum could be well reproduced with a single signal at an isomer shift of δ = 0.62(1) mm · s –1 , subjected to quadrupole splitting of Δ E Q = –4.2(2) mm · s –1 . The isomer shift is clearly indicative for purely trivalent europium (no signal intensity around –10 mm · s –1 for a divalent europium species), similar to EuAsO 4 [ δ = 0.49(1) mm · s –1 ] or LiEuMo 2 O 8 [ δ = 0.52(1) mm · s –1 ] . The quadrupole splitting parameter and the slightly enhanced experimental line width of Γ = 2.91(6) mm · s –1 reflect the statistical O/N coordination of the europium cations.…”

“…This observation indicates that Eu 3+ ions occupy non-centrosymmetric lattice site in the Rb 2 Bi(PO 4 )(MoO 4 ) host matrix. On the other hand, the intensity difference between MD and ED transitions is rather low if compared to some other molybdate host matrices doped with Eu 3+ ions, for instance, Li 3 Ba 2 La 3 (MoO 4 ):Eu 3+ [31], Tb 2 Mo 3 O 12 :Eu 3+ [18], La 2 MoO 6 :Eu 3+ [32], LiEuMo 2 O 8 [33], La 2 Mo 2 O 9 :Eu 3+ [34] and so on. The rather small difference between ED and MD transitions of Eu 3+ ions in Rb 2 Bi(PO 4 )(MoO 4 ) host matrix can be assigned to relatively symmetric dodecahedral BiO 8 site, which is occupied by Eu 3+ .…”

“…The extent of energy migration is closely related to the crystal structure. There are only few reports on compounds comprising a trivalent site occupied by 100 % Eu 3+ with high quantum efficiency, for example, EuTa 7 O 19 , EuP 5 O 14 , and LiEuMo 2 O 8 . Because of the large separation and low‐dimensional arrangement of the trivalent RE ions, these compounds show a high critical concentration.…”
