“…Over the last decade, there were significant developments and discussions about library space transformation related to the construction of concepts such as “leaning commons” (Allison et al, 2019; Chan & Wong, 2013 ; Oliveira, 2018 ; Thomas et al, 2015 ), “library as place” ( Garnar & Tonyan, 2021 ; Aabø & Audunson, 2012), “leaning and social space” ( Bryant et al, 2009 ; May & Swabey, 2015 ; Ojennus & Watts, 2017 ), quiet areas for individual study and collaborative space ( Cha & Kim, 2020 ; McCaffrey & Breen, 2016 ) etc. Academic libraries as physical spaces play in the academic community support self-directed and collaborative learning, community interaction and engagement, performing activities, and the creation of new knowledge ( May & Swabey, 2015 ; Oliveira, 2018 ; Vassilakaki & Moniarou-Papaconstantinou, 2021 ), and they also offer printed and electronic access to their collection as well as various services, such as in-person reference and face-to-face instruction interaction.…”
