As I have shown in earlier work with other colleagues, the interface of CBS allows for the customization of data selection and visualizations, a feature which is regularly used by rightwing politicians to share socio-economic "facts" about the lives of people with a migration background (see Muis et al 2019). The affordances of the CBS interface allow for a strategic selection of data to make a situation seem more alarming.…”
