Abstract:Introduction
Pilocytic astrocytomas (PA) are the most common pediatric brain tumors. They are characterized by MAPK pathway alterations, leading to its constitutive activation and modulating the balance between cell proliferation and the oncogene-induced senescence (OIS) sustained by senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors. This makes PA suitable for MAPK inhibitor (MAPKi) therapies, showing encouraging results in phase 1/2 clinical trials. Little is known about the molecular… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
