Levodopa and relief of parkinsonian symptons

Abstract: This paper has presented a brief review of the treatment of parkinsonism with levodopa. Although there are problems in the utilization of this amino acid in practical therapy, significant amelioration of the symptoms and signs of parkinsonism can be obtained and sustained over long periods of time. It is as yet too early to detect any potential of alteration in the basic progressive course of the disease.
