“…[8] and Woosley et al [IO] have also been included The resonances observed in the 27Al(a, n)30P reaction' have been compared with levels in 31P from a-particle capture in 27Al [9]. It is seen that neutron groups at a-particle energies of about 3.07, 3.20, 3.24 and 3.30MeV are excited corresponding to levels in 31P at 12.328, 12.444 and 12.455, 12.479 and 12.497 and 12.547 MeV, respectively.…”

“…The 30 Si(p,γ) 31 P reaction rate is rather well constrained experimentally at high temperatures (T ≥ 1 GK which are relevant for type Ia supernovae nucleosynthesis [9]) where the strength of resonances above E c.m. r = 600 keV has been measured directly [10].…”

“…These works suggest that the polluter material should be produced by hydrogen burning occurring in a temperature range of 120 − 200 MK. However, this temperature range is sensitive to a few proton radiative capture reactions, 30 Si(p,γ) 31 P being one of them.…”

“…This reaction has been formerly used to monitor traces of beryllium in the environment with a source of alpha particles of 5 MeV emitted by a 210 Po source of 0.16 Ci [8]. In the case of a sapphire target, the cray spectrum also shows a 2235 keV line produced by aluminium through the 27 Al(a, pc) 30 Si reaction [9,10] which can conveniently be used as a monitor of the integrated beam charge. However, the energy of the impinging He ions has to be carefully adjusted since in sapphires, due to the poor resolution of the scintillator detector used in the experiment, the 3498 keV c-rays from the decay from the second level of 30 Si in the previous reaction might interfere with the searched 4439 keV c-rays.…”
