Level Scheme ofSm153Based on (n, γ), (et al.

Abstract: suspect that a satisfactory explanation of the highly retarded decay to the first two 2+ levels will need to take into consideration the detailed shell-model configurations of both the parent and daughter states. ACKNOWLEDGMENTSWe are indebted to E. B. Shera and R. K. Sheline for helpful discussions and comments on the manuscript. Illuminating comments were also received from G. Scharff-Goldhaber and J. B. Ball. Finally, we wish to thank the LASL cyclotron staff for providing the proton-bombardment facilities.… Show more

“…Some preliminary results of the present investigation have been reported already [9,10]. In 153Sm and 155Gd there exist 10 rotational bands below 600 keV [13,14]. 2 and 3 used these data.…”

“…Part of the conversion electron spectrum is shown in Figure 1. The theoretical conversion coefficients (column [13][14][15] were calculated with the interpolation program of Hager and Seltzer [21]. lsaEu was a strong contamination in the target, because of the high neutron cross-section of 8800 barn, in comparison to 390+30 barn of aS3Eu.…”

“…Although the sensitivity is low, it is sufficient to study partial cross sections above 0.1 barn. The two most widely used installations are located at Argonne (264)(265)(266)(267)(268)(269)(270)(271) and at Risp , the latter being operated by the Technische Hochschule Munchen. The Ris¢ spectrometer, often operated at high energies in the fifth order of reflection, has allowed observations with a resolution of 17 eV at 90 k eY and 0.43 keY at 900 keY.…”
