Abstract: Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) is emerging as a feasible and effective rescue strategy for prolonged cardiac arrest (CA). However, prolonged total body ischemia and reperfusion can cause microvascular occlusion that prevents organ reperfusion and recovery of function.
