On the other hand, the distinction between "leucine-sensitive" and "leucine-insensitive" seems to have little meaning when applied to patients with insulin-secreting tumors of the pancreas, and avoids the question of why L-leucine produces hypoglycemia only in some patients with organic hyperinsulinism (15)(16)(17).
