“…We would like to thank Dr. Segal et al for their thoughtful letter to the editor regarding our recent pilot study aimed to define normal pouch function in patients with an ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA). 1,2 We recognise that this is a small study but believe this pilot study sets the stage for the development of larger, multicenter investigations to further describe normal pouch function. Importantly, we also hope this work furthers the process of correlating patientreported symptoms with objective physiologic findings, which may have actionable treatment strategies to improve overall pouch function.…”
