Letter in response to Winkelmann and Schagen and Hildebrandt regarding: Hermann Stieve's clinical anatomical research and the history of anatomy in the Third Reich

“…With respect to Dr. Hildebrandt's important point regarding the ''potential in ourselves'' for acts of cruelty (Hildebrandt, 2010), I made a similar point in an article published in the British Medical Journal in 1996 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Nuremberg Medical Trial. In that article, which Hildebrandt has cited (Hildebrandt, 2009b), I emphasized the importance of a commemoration to the victims that would serve ''.…”
