Let the Farmers Embrace “Carbon Neutrality”: Taking the Centralized Biogas as an Example

Abstract: The promotion of rural centrally produced biogas (CPB) is an effective carbon neutrality development solution in rural areas. How to better encourage farmers to adopt such products is an important part of the sustainable development of a project. For this reason, focus is needed on the “willingness to embrace (WTE)” and “Willingness to motivate (WTM)” of rural residents for CPB projects and their influencing factors. We chose to conduct questionnaire surveys in rural areas of the Hebei and Shandong provinces o… Show more

“…Finally, achieving a transformation in the minds of unemployed laborers is challenging. In the process of agricultural production, traditional laborers have long-term self-accumulated production experience, and most are engaged in small and scattered agricultural production activities [39]. The production technology that they use is often relatively simple, and they are only satisfied with self-production and self-sale; moreover, they are not good at management [40].…”

“…This gap prevents a full knowledge of the best design techniques for distinct systems. Finally, many studies concentrate on particular locations or climates, overlooking design advances' wider relevance across varied ecosystems [43]. The research does not fully explore design options for different climates, economic feasibility, or customer acceptability.…”

“…The consumers’ willingness is of great significance for motivating consumers to participate in the “Dual Carbon” strategy. Thus, it is necessary to understand it to realize low-carbon energy transition and to mitigate global climate change [ 13 , 14 ]. Research on rural residents’ willingness to consume (WTC) and willingness to spend (WTS) for BBF can provide insights for the formulation of biomass clean fuel promotion policies in rural areas [ 15 ].…”
