Lesões expansivas intraventriculares à ressonância magnética: ensaio iconográfico - parte 1

Abstract: The present essay is illustrated with magnetic resonance images obtained at the authors' institution over the past 15 years and discusses the main imaging findings of intraventricular tumor-like lesions (ependymoma, pilocytic astrocytoma, central neurocytoma, ganglioglioma, choroid plexus papilloma, primitive neuroectodermal tumors, meningioma, epidermoid tumor). Such lesions represent a subgroup of intracranial lesions with unique characteristics and some image patterns that may facilitate the differential di… Show more

Já na RM o tumor pode aparecer variando de iso a hipointenso em T1 e, em geral, isointenso em T2, com intenso realce pelo meio de contraste, como descreve Shogan et al 8 .…”

“…The symptoms of intraventricular ganglioglioma are caused by obstruction of CSF flow and hydrocephalus, headache and visual impairment being common 8 . According to various reports 6 - 11 , intraventricular gangliogliomas can originate in the lateral ventricles, in the third ventricle, and fourth ventricles-some even originating in the choroid plexus-and should always be included in the differential diagnosis of intraventricular lesions.…”
