“…Since 1854, when von Graefe 5 reported the first series of lesions of the caruncle, only a few reviews have been published, the majority of them reported more than 15 years ago. 3,[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] In our series, caruncular lesions represented only 0.4% of all surgical specimens submitted to our Ophthalmic Pathology Laboratory during the 18 years of the study. This incidence is in agreement with the incidences previously reported (0.3-1.1%).…”
