Abstract:Bisphosphonates are commonly used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and other bone metastatic neoplasias. They are usually well tolerated; however osteonecrosis of the jaw is a recently reported side effect seen with the use of parenteral bisphosphonates. We report a case of osteonecrosis of the jaw in a patient treated for multiple myeloma with chemotherapy and parenteral pamidronate.
