“…The richness of the aquatic avifauna of this wetland is largely determined by the diversity of habitats distributed in mosaics over the entire site and its associated periphery (Boumezbeur, 1993;Kadid et al, 2007;Bakaria et al, 2009;Benyacoub et al, 2011) where include a high diversity of plant species and vegetation groups. Two main categories of plants can be distinguished: helophytes represented mainly by Scirpus lacustris, Iris pseudoacorus, Sparganium erectum, Phragmites australis and Typha angustifolia and hydrophytes represented by Nymphaea alba, Potamogeton lucens, Myriophyllum alterniflorum (Kadid et al, 2007).
