“…We collected seeds in May and June, 2019, when the fruits were ripe but before dehiscence to avoid losing the seeds. We collected three fruits, pest and disease-free, from each of 30 randomly distributed M. alejandrae trees in each one of the two sites, specially avoiding those frequently damaged by the leaf-footed bug, L. dilaticollis (Gallardo-Yobal et al 2020). Distance between M. alejandrae trees was a minimum of 50 m and a maximum of 100 m in the two study sites.…”
