Least duckweed invasions have also been associated with mat formations leading to waterway clogging (Duenas, 2022); reduction in light and oxygen resulting in lower plant and invertebrate richness (Ceschin, 2020); and loss of recreational areas (Paolacci, Harrison, & Jansen, 2018b). Dotted duckweed is native to Southeastern Asia and Australia (Landolt, 1986), was accidentally introduced to the US state of Missouri around 1930, likely during aquarium supply transportation, and has expanded to several states ever since (Jacono & P ngsten, 2023) .…”
