Abstract: A Leishmaniose Visceral Canina (LVC) é uma doença infecciosa de caráter crônico e zoonótico, causada por um protozoário pleomórfico da ordem Kinetoplastida, sendo o cão o principal reservatório doméstico de L. chagasi, tanto em ambiente urbano quanto rural, desse modo, o controle adequado e o tratamento eficaz para a manutenção do paciente com leishmaniose visceral canina faz-se importante.
