“…The change in thickness, ÁĥðtÞ, between two different depths (LIB and MAB) was obtained from the difference between the displacementsx a andx b at the LIB and MAB: wherev a andv b are the velocities at the LIB and MAB, respectively. The phased-tracking method has been used in various applications, e.g., measurements of the motion and deformation of the arterial and heart walls [17][18][19] for evaluating the viscoelastic properties and the myocardial function, [20][21][22][23] and measuring viscoelastic properties with acoustic radiation force. 24,25) 2.2 Correction of change in propagation time delay of pulse wave PWV changes with some factors such as the elasticity and diameter of the artery, and the thickness of the arterial wall.…”

“…The development of noninvasive, reproducible, easy‐to‐use, sensitive diagnostic techniques would greatly improve the detection of early pathological changes associated with treatment regimens . One such technique is the phased tracking method (PTM) , a high‐resolution Doppler measurement that is useful for detecting cardiac transmural changes , the PTM is measured on minute amplitude on the order of several tens of micrometers up to several hundred Hertz, which has neither been recognized in TDI nor standard M‐mode, B‐mode, 2D‐strain echocardiography. These fine measurement characteristics and the rapid minute amplitude have allowed measurement of the fetal heart and the fetal descending aorta of normal and growth‐restricted fetuses .…”

“…Further, it has been reported to allow highly precise assessments of doxorubicin-induced myocardial dysfunction in adults [11]. Increases in the myocardial thickening rate have also been reported in healthy fetuses, indicating that such increases occur with gestational age [12].…”
