Left–right symmetry and heavy particle quantum effects

Abstract: We have renormalized a classical left-right model with a bidoublet, and left and right triplets in the Higgs sector. We focus on oblique corrections and show the interplay between the top quark, heavy neutrinos and Higgses contribution to the muon ∆r parameter. In the SM, custodial symmetry prevents large oblique corrections to appear. Although in LR models there is no such symmetry to make vanish the quadratically diverging terms, we have shown, that heavy Higgses contributions to ∆r are under control. Also t… Show more

“…However, it does not mean that it is easier to confirm or falsify it, in fact, despite of many interesting studies and constraints, the model has not been ruled out so far (though many interesting questions and problems calling for consistency of the model have been arose [1][2][3]. PDG [21] gives M W 2 > 1 TeV for standard couplings decaying to eν, recently the CMS collaboration established the generic bound [22] [25] based on the integrated luminosity of 2.1 f b −1 pushed it even further, for some neutrino mass ranges it reaches already 2.3 TeV.…”

“…Apart from [1][2][3]18] in which one of the authors of this paper has been involved (MLRSM model), there are other papers: [35] (limits on W 2 mass coming from the K L −K S process (finite box diagrams, renormalization not required), [36,37] (LEP physics), [38][39][40][41][42] (process b → sγ). Some interesting results are included also in papers [43,44] where the problem of decoupling of heavy scalar particles in low energy processes has been discussed.…”

“…There are many theoretical and experimental papers devoted to the V + A weak interaction effects, lepton flavor, and CPV in the various leptonic and semileptonic processes, e.g. [30][31][32][33][34][35][36].…”
