“…Generally these children (especially those with neurogenic causes) have a dilated ascending and transverse colon, and it is physiologically more suitable to deliver the enema fluid at the place where the stool is hardest (left colon), which will result in effective and early bowel evacuation with less problem of water absorption and abdominal pain. One study has mentioned that LACE is not only comparable to RACE, but also quite satisfactory for children and their caregivers [12].
