“…13 LAAA have been safely resected with minimally invasive endoscopic techniques and should be considered for patients with small LAAA in the absence of left atrial and/or appendage thrombi. 19,21,33,53 The prognosis after surgical treatment is favorable as none of the patients in this review reported recurrent symptoms, arrhythmia, or thromboembolic events at up to 180 days follow-up. Resection of very large (giant) LAAA may leave dysmorphic atrial tissue that can predispose to atrial tachyarrhythmia.…”

“…[67][68][69][70] In centers that do not perform these procedures, excision of LAAA alone appears to be a reasonable choice. 19,21,33,53 The prognosis after surgical treatment is favorable as none of the patients in this review reported recurrent symptoms, arrhythmia, or thromboembolic events at up to 180 days follow-up. In those not undergoing surgery due to various reasons medical management should be directed to treat atrial tachyarrhythmia and thromboembolic complication.…”

“…9,14 Other complications, such as respiratory distress due to enlargement of the huge left atrial appendage aneurysm, 11 chest pain due to tension on the coronary artery or pericardium, and shortness of breath caused by severe mitral regurgitation or even heart failure. 21 What's more, the potentially fatal complications of atrial appendage aneurysm contain rupture of aneurysm or even sudden cardiac death. 1,3,4,8,20 The patient with right atrial appendage aneurysm after birth also presented with palpitation owing to persistent atrial tachyarrhythmia.…”

“…Although controversy exists on what constitutes a true LAAA, there is universal consensus on its treatment plan. It can present at any age, even detected in fetuses 3,4 and have wide range of presentation, from absolutely asymptomatic to palpitation 5,6 , heart failure 7 , embolism 8,9,10 , mitral regurgitation 11 , even chronic hiccups 12 . Surgical excision offer best treatment 13 Here we discuss two cases, presented over a two year period, and treated with surgical excision with expected outcome.…”
