LED Driver With Self-Adaptive Drive Voltage

Abstract: Abstract-This paper presents an LED driver circuit consisting of multiple linear current regulators and a voltage preregulator with adaptive output voltage. In the proposed driver, the output voltage of the preregulator is always self-adjusted so that the voltage across the linear current regulator of the LED string with the highest voltage drop is kept at the minimum value that is required to maintain the desired string current. Because the linear current regulators in this driver operate with the minimum vol… Show more

“…The powerconversion efficiency of this driver is about 91% at the PVDD of 38 V and the channel current of 50 mA with twelve LEDs for all channels. Compared to other multi-channel driver [1], power-conversion efficiency of this proposed LED driver is improved because voltage optimization has been done independently for each channel. In other words, even though LEDs at each channel have different forward voltage, there is no excess voltage at the individual constant current source.…”

“…The power consumption of LED is affects to the life of the LED lighting device by changing the internal temperature of the LED through operating of the control logic. Also, the LED lighting control system should be provides exceptional identification skills of things and high color rendering by considering the energy savings [1][2][3][4][5][6].…”

“…These harmonic currents source for numerous complications are like voltage distortion, noises, heating results in diminished efficiency of the power system. Due to this fact, there is a need for power supplies that obtain current with low harmonic content and have PF close to unity [9]. The traditional boost topology is the most extensively employed topology for the purpose of PFC applications.…”
