Leber- und Lungenmetastasen des kolorektalen Karzinoms

Abstract: Metastasectomy for liver and lung metastases of colorectal cancer is associated with a good overall survival in selected cases. Patients with liver and lung metastases should not be routinely excluded from metastasectomy and patients with thoracic lymph node metastases should also not be routinely excluded. Negative prognostic factors for survival are localization of the tumor in the rectum, multiple metastases and disease progression after premetastasectomy chemotherapy. Patients with disease progression afte… Show more

“…Multiple investigations have shown that aggressive surgical therapies in these patients are feasible and should be pursued. [21][22][23][24] T A B L E 1 Baseline characteristics of patients with resected colorectal cancer, stratified by development of pulmonary metastasis. Metachronous lesions should also be resected and have better outcomes than synchronous metastases.…”

“…Different from the pathogenesis of PLC, patients with liver metastasis as secondary liver tumors develop these tumors as distal metastasis of other cancers, such as colorectal cancer 50,51 . In these cases, surgical resection alone may offer little benefit, and chemotherapy is the main therapeutic strategy for advanced patients 52 . However, the clinical benefits of liver metastasis chemotherapy are not always obvious and multiple chemotherapy leads to an additional burden of patients due to adverse effects 52,53 .…”

However, the clinical benefits of liver metastasis chemotherapy are not always obvious and multiple chemotherapy leads to an additional burden of patients due to adverse effects 52,53 . Therefore, the therapeutic response of patients with liver metastasis and timely control of the progression of liver metastases are of great significance to improve the survival and clinical benefits of patients with liver metastasis.…”
