Aims:To identify clusters based on graduating nursing students' self-reported professional competence and their achievement on a national examination. Furthermore, to describe and compare the identified clusters regarding sample characteristics, students' perceptions of overall quality of the nursing programme, and students' general self-efficacy (GSE). Design:A cross-sectional study combining survey data and results from a national examination.Methods: Data were collected at two universities and one university college in Sweden in January 2017, including 179 students in the final term of the nursing programme. The study was based on the Nurse Professional Competence Scale, the GSE scale, and results from the National Clinical Final Examination. A two-step cluster analysis was used to identify competence profiles, followed by comparative analyses between clusters.Results: Three clusters were identified illustrating students' different competence profiles. Obstetric violence refers to the mistreatment of women in pregnancy and childbirth care by their health providers. It is linked to poor quality of care, lack of trust in health systems, and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. Evidence of interventions to reduce and prevent obstetric violence is limited. We developed a training intervention using a participatory theatre technique called Forum Play inspired by the Theatre of the Oppressed for health providers in Sri Lanka. This paper assesses the potential of the training method to increase staff awareness of obstetric violence and promote taking action to reduce or prevent it. We conducted four workshops with 20 physicians and 30 nurses working in three hospitals in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Participants completed a questionnaire before and three-to-four months after the intervention. At follow-up, participants more often reported that they had been involved in situations of obstetric violence, indicating new knowledge of the phenomenon and/or an increase in their ability to conceptualise it. The intervention appears promising for improving the abilities of health care providers to recognise obstetric violence, the first step in counteracting it. The study demonstrates the value of developing further studies to assess the longitudinal impacts of theatre-based training interventions to reduce obstetric violence and, ultimately, improve patient care.

Conflict Management in Pesantren, Madrasah, and Islamic Colleges in Indonesia: A Literature Review

This is a literature review focusing on the causes and the conflict resolution in pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), madrasas, and Islamic colleges in Indonesia. The study based on 27 documents consisting of 12 documents on conflict management in Islamic boarding schools, 12 documents on conflict management in madrasah and 3 documents on conflict management in Islamic Higher Education. All documents were strictly selected through the following stages: first, keyword mapping; second, searching; third, screening; fourth, checking the sorted data in the Mandeley software; fifth, all existing literatures are imported into the Nvivo software for analysis. The results of the study show that: 1) Among the causes of conflict in the pesantren are mainly family problems within the pesantren, and conflicting views in the management of education; 2) The causes of conflict in madrasah include the discipline of working time, teacher personal styles and personal problems, communication problems, organizational structure, and organizational members, and financial management problems; 3) The causes of conflict in Islamic colleges are disputed opinions and various interests among individuals or groups in the institution. Artikel ini adalah kajian literatur yang fokus mendiskusikan penyebab konflik dan penyelesaiannya dalam manajemen konflik di pesantren, madrasah, dan perguruan tinggi Islam (PTKI) di Indonesia. Jumlah literatur yang direview adalah 27 dokumen; 12 dokumen berbicara mengenai manajemen konflik di pesantren, 12 dokumen tentang manajemen konflik di madrasah, dan 3 dokumen membincangkan manajemen konflik di Perguruan Tinggi Islam. Semua dokumen dikumpulkan secara ketat melalui tahapan-tahapan berikut: pertama, pemetaan kata kunci; kedua, pencarian (searching); ketiga, penyaringan (screening); keempat, memasukkan semua data yang sudah dipilah ke dalam software Mandeley; kelima, semua data/literatur yang ada di Mandeley diimpor ke software Nvivo untuk dianalisis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Di antara penyebab konflik di pesantren adalah masalah keluarga di internal pesantren, perbedaan pendidikan dan pandangan manajemen; 2) Penyebab konflik di madrasah antara lain kedisiplinan kehadiran dan waktu kepulangan, gaya pribadi guru, dan masalah pribadi, masalah komunikasi, struktur organisasi, dan anggota organisasi, dan masalah manajemen keuangan; 3) Di antara penyebab konflik di perguruan tinggi Islam adalah perbedaan pendapat dan kepentingan antara individu atau kelompok.
