“…However, the corresponding coupling constants, n J, are very different and are smaller in all the complexes. The 3 J( 1 H-207 Pb) values for the diphenyllead complexes are in between those reported for hexa-and pentacoordinated complexes [42,50,51]. However, the 2 J( 1 H-207 Pb) parameter for the dimethyllead compound, 127.0 Hz, is lower than those reported previously for these kinds of compounds in a coordinating solvent like dmsod 6 [52] and would correspond to a coordination number lower than the five found in the solid state.…”

“…The 3 J1 H 207 Pb coupling constant values (166e173 Hz) for these compounds suggest coordination numbers (CNs) between five and six for the metal [14], making it unlikely that the "naked" [Ph 2 Pb(X-pspa)] monomers (CN ¼ four) are the sole constituents of these solutions. The increase in the CN can be due to the incorporation of DMSO molecules to the monomer and/ or to the formation of dimers or polymers via the carboxylate group such as those isolated in the solid state.…”

“…Organolead compounds containing intramolecularly coordinating ligands such as acetates or ligands of type B [60], C [61], D [62], E [63], F [62], G [64], and H [65], respectively, (Chart 1) have been published. All of these compounds contain at least one electron-withdrawing substituent making the lead atom sufficiently Lewis-acidic to allow intramolecular coordination.…”
