Purpose: To describe genitourinary emergencies at the university hospital in cotonou Material and Methods: This was retrospective descriptive study covering a period of 6 years running January 1, 2011 to January 1, 2017. All patients aged at least 15 years regardless of the sex were involved. We did not involve in this study, patients under aged 15 years old who have supported by the Pediatric surgery department. All departments were concerned by the study: Emergency department, surgery, traumatology, medicine cardiology, nephrology, internal medicine, haematology, rheumatology, neurology, reanimation and gynecology departments. The following items were studied: age, sex, complaints, etiologies and emergencies kinds. Results:The average age of patients was 51.4 years old (15 years' old-100 years old). Genitourinary emergencies were accounted for 5.4%. A male predominance was noted in 88.6% against 11.4% women. The sex ratio was 7.7. The 55% patients were referred against 45% were admitted. Over 6 year's period on the study, 46 cases of genitourinary emergencies opinion were done in eleven departments Anesthesia-reanimation department predominance was noted in 32.61%. In emergency department we were seen 391 patients for genitourinary emergencies. The discovery circumstances were urine complete retention in 45.49% with 43.40% of non-traumatic urine complete retention against 2.09% urine complete retention for traumatic urinary tract following up by genitourinary trauma in 19.8%. Conclusion:Genitourinary emergencies are different group of pathologies or symptoms.

Background: The traumas of scrotum are often traumas caused by accidents on the public highway or in sport. However, fractures of the penis are secondary to a direct trauma to the penis with rupture of the albuginea causing hematoma, pain and deviation of the penis. Animal bites are rare. Purpose: To describe the management of traumatic emergencies of the external genital organs at the CHU Bouaké. Patients and Methods: Retrospective and descriptive study on the patients treated at Bouaké University Hospital for traumatic emergencies of the external genital organs during the period from January 01, 2012 to December 31, 2018. The parameters studied were epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic. Results: The study period registered 26 patients. The mean age was 34.5 years, Closed trauma to the scrotum was a frequent reason with 30.8%, the trauma sat on the scrotum in 53.8%, the penis in 42.3%, the vulva in 3.8% of cases. The circumstances of discovery of trauma to the penis were dominated by coitus missteps (45.5%), on the stock exchange and vulva by accidents on the public highway (60.8%). Scrotal swelling was the frequent clinical sign (26.9%). Treatment was dominated by surgery in 92.30%. Seven patients (29.16%) underwent exploratory scrototomy associated with hematoma evacuation, five patients (20.83%), a simple trimming, five patients (20.83%), an evacuation of the hematoma associated with a cavernous suture, one patient (4.16%), a trimming associated with a suture of the vulva, one patient (4.16%), a trimming associated with a right orchiectomy. The hospital stay was less than 5 days. The course was simple in 92.

IntroductionLa dérivation urinaire sus-pubienne est pratiquée dans différentes circonstances. Cette étude vise à décrire la technique de cystostomie percutanée (CPC) pratiquée à l'aide d'une pince de Kelly pour la pose d'une sonde de Foley, à définir les indications de cette technique et à rapporter les résultats.MéthodesDu 1er janvier 2005 au 31 décembre 2014, il a été réalisé 194 CPC à la pince de Kelly dans notre service, en urgence, sous anesthésie locale, chez des patients en rétention vésicale. Cette technique, dérivée de la cystostomie par ponction au trocart vise à placer dans la vessie une sonde de Foley après incision cutanée et aponévrotique (de 1 cm sur la ligne médiane, à 1,5 - 2 cm au-dessus de la symphyse pubienne) et la ponction vésicale à la pince de Kelly à travers cette incision.RésultatsLes 194 patients étaient tous de sexe masculin, âgés en moyenne de 50 ans ± 21 (extrêmes de 17 ans et 86 ans). Les pathologies à l'origine des rétentions vésicales étaient: les rétrécissements urétraux (n=119), les hypertrophies bénignes de la prostate (n=47), les cancers de prostate (n=21), les traumatismes de l'urètre (n=7). Tous les patients ont été opérés avec succès par cette méthode et les suites ont été simples. Le temps de réalisation était de 6 minutes ± 1. Les sondes de Foley mises en place étaient de charrière 16 (n=59), charrière 18 (n=116) et charrière 20 (n=19). La cicatrisation du trajet de la CPC après l'ablation de la sonde de Foley n'a posée aucun problème chez 146 patients suivis, les 48 autres ayant été perdus de vue.ConclusionLa CPC à la pince de Kelly est une technique simple, rapide et pas onéreuse. Ses indications sont les mêmes que pour toute CPC et elle représente une alternative à la cystostomie par chirurgie ouverte.
