Le pantun soundanais. Quelques aspects historiques et culturels

Abstract

— Iskandar Wassid (EFEO, Bandung) amorce ici l'exploitation de l'énorme corpus mis à la disposition des chercheurs par les efforts du poète soundanais Ajip Rosidi qui a enregistré et transcrit un nombre impressionnant de pantun ou longs poèmes soundanais traditionnels. Il en étudie ici la forme, la langue, et voit dans quelle mesure il est possible d'y trouver des références à l'histoire réelle.

“…It is not only a medium for the preservation of the Sundanese language, but also a space for cultural negotiations between Islam and Sunda (Lahpan 2021, 1-23). Even compared to Sundanese literary genres, such as carita pantun, which are increasingly rarely performed in the community, pupujian still circulates orally and can be heard sung in mosques through loudspeakers (Rosidi 1973;Iskandarwassid 1976;Weintraub 1991). This is strong evidence that pesantren is not only the entry point for the development of Arabic literature into Sundanese literature but also an important institution in its preservation.…”
