Zusammenfassung
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird versucht, den Leistungsstand der einheimischen Djallonkéschafe in Reproduktion und Gewichtsentwicklung in großen Stationsherden und in der kleinbäuerlichen Schafhaltung zu ermitteln. Es wurden umweltbedingte und genetische Einflüsse auf die Produktionsleistung untersucht. Mit Hilfe von Fütterungsversuchen wurde die Mastleistung und der Nährstoffbedarf von 209 Absatzlämmern überprüft.
In die Untersuchungen waren 3900 Muttertiere in Stationsherden und 714 Muttertiere aus acht kleinbäuerlichen Betrieben einbezogen.
Unter Stationsbedingungen zeigen die besten Reproduktionsleistungen Muttertiere im Alter von 3–5 Jahren. Einflußfaktoren bestehen hinsichtlich saisonal bedingter Nährstoffversorgung und des Alters der Mutterschafe. Zutreter und Muttertiere im Alter von mehr als 7 Jahren weisen eine geringere Konzeptionsbereitschaft und Produktivität auf.
Folgende Durchschnittsleistungen wurden an den Stationsherden ermittelt:

Die Produktivitätszahl in kleinbäuerlicher Herdenhaltung wurde mit 90% geschätzt. Die geringeren Leistungen der traditionellen Schafhaltung sind nicht so sehr ein Ergebnis geringerer Fruchtbarkeit, sondern auf eine höhere Sterblichkeit zurückzuführen, die bei Lämmern und erwachsenen Tieren 3‐ bis 4mal höher als in den Stationsherden ist.
Die Gewichtsentwicklung der Lämmer unter Stationsbedingungen wurden signifikant durch Geburtssaison, Geschlecht, Geburtstyp und Alter des Muttertieres beeinflußt. Einlingslämmer sind Mehrlingslämmern um 16 bis 35%, männliche Lämmer den weiblichen um 8 bis 25% überlegen. Die beste Gewichtsentwicklung zeigen Lämmer von Muttertieren mittleren Alters.

Die Gewichtsentwicklung in kleinbäuerlichen Herden verläuft in allen Merkmalen langsamer.
Die mittlere Schlachtausbeute von Djallonkélammern männlichen Geschlechts im Alter von 5½ bis 8½ Monaten betrug 46,8% bei einer Standardabweichung von 2,1%.
In Fütterungsversuchen in vier Versuchsgruppen mit steigender Kraftfuttergabe unter standardisierten Umweltbedingungen nahmen die Tiere pro Tag zwischen 0,30 und 0,57 UF und 517 bis 710 g Trockensubstanz auf. Die Tageszunahmen lagen zwischen 37 und 85 g und waren signifikant zwischen den Gruppen verschieden. Die Energieverwertung lag zwischen 6,3 und 8,8 UF pro kg Zunahme mit einem Optimum bei 0,5 UF pro Tier und Tag. Es wurde festgestellt, daß die Nährstoffbedarfsnormen in der Literatur besonders für die Energieaufnahme als zu hoch angegeben wurden.
