Abstract:Abstract— Synthesis and degradation of anthocyanins in the leaves of Perilla nankinensis (S.D. plant) were studied in relation to photoperiod, light intensity and floral induction. No relation was found between anthocyanin degradation and floral induction as suggested earlier by Ermolaeva and Sironval. Discussion is opened on the significance of the observed variations of anthocyanin content in the leaves and on their relation with photosynthesis and respiration.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
