Abstract

South-Eastern France in the 3rd century B.C. : state of research The period of the 4th and 3rd century B.C. in South-Eastern France is still poorly documented. This is a time of deep modifications in the local Iron age, when a number of small dwelling places are abandoned and large settlements develop in the plain, when silver mint begins to be coined on the model of the drachms of the Greek colonies in iberian Catalonia (Rhodè and Emporion), when La Tène models are being wide spread for personal ornaments and arms. From the first half of the 2nd century B.C. on wards, starts the importation (subsequently more and more important) of wine and connected ustensiles of italic provenance.
