“…This evolution first resulted from the institutionalization of the practice in the 1960s, within a context of extensive structuring of the French sports movement around new federations, and then from the sportification and marketing of sporting and leisure services. Against this background, the whole sporting field became much more complex because of 'the multiplicity of stakeholders, the strengthening of the legal framework and the diversification of practices' (Barbusse, 2009, p. 8), resulting in an entangling of stakeholders, regulations, and practices (Delalandre & Collinet, 2012;Stigger, 2005). New sport governance arrangements needed to be implemented because of this evolution, namely through professionalizing the institutions but also by monitoring (internal and external) information.…”
