LDL fraction in rats‐fed trans fatty acids induces inflammatory factors in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (821.1)

Abstract: Trans‐fatty acid is a well‐known risk factor of atherogenesis, however its mechanism has not been clarified. Plasmalogen is a subclass of phospholipids, characterized by vinyl‐ether bond in sn‐1 position, and known to have the anti‐atherogenenic property. We have found that trans‐fatty acids were incorporated into sn‐1 position of plasmalogen (trans‐type plasmalogen) in trans‐fatty acids fed rats.
