“…Although ISO 14040 indicates directly to possible use of LCA in the field of identification and assessment of environmental aspects in Environmental Management Systems, it seems that this application is rarely found in an economic space and, in particular, in a Polish economic space. In some publications relating to this issue [10,[17][18][19][20][21][22][23] the LCA technique was shown to have theoretical potential and to be useful in methodology in this respect and to have restrictions resulting from its specific character which do not disqualify its application in the field of identification and assessment of environmental aspects. The presented results constitute a part of a greater project [22,23], however, they have not been published so far and include results of individual interviews conducted with individual companies.…”

Continuing the research related to use of LCA in Environmental Management Systems, they made an attempt to verify, whether and to what degree, LCA is, in practice, applied during the identification and assessment of environmental aspects.…”

“…Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a widely known and standardised methodology used to investigate the impact of a product or technology over its lifetime (Muralikrishna and Manickam, 2017). Due to its wide applicability in different technological fields, LCA has become a core topic in the environmental management field to support the choice between different technological options according to their environmental impacts (Lewandowska et al, 2013). By covering and modelling all the activities related to a product or a function, LCA aims to avoid problem shifting (Simonen, 2014).…”

“…Access to EU funds has allowed significant resources for the financing of investment and ecological activities to accumulate in some countries. Initially, the criteria for the granting of financial assistance were very lax, but over time more and more attention has been paid to the selection of investment projects which fulfil both economic and ecological criteria (Lewandowska et al 2013). Given the importance of public procurement, it is certain that an increased focus on environmental performance in the public sector will have a great impact on business (De Benedetto and Klemeš 2010).…”
