Lattice-Based Lightweight Quantum Resistant Scheme in 5G-Enabled Vehicular Networks

Abstract: Both security and privacy are central issues and need to be properly handled because communications are shared among vehicles in open channel environments of 5G-enabled vehicular networks. Several researchers have proposed authentication schemes to address these issues. Nevertheless, these schemes are not only vulnerable to quantum attacks but also use heavy operations to generate and verify signatures of messages. Additionally, these schemes need an expensive component RoadSide Unit (RSU)-aided scheme during … Show more

“…VANET has the potential to improve road safety, traffic management, driver navigation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by enabling vehicles to make more informed and efficient decisions. The use of VANET systems [24][25][26][27] can potentially contribute to improving the efficiency and security of passport control processes at airports by allowing passengers to communicate in real time with airport authorities.…”

“…In 5G-enabled vehicle networks, Al-Mekhlafi et al [16] provided a lightweight quantum-resistant approach based on the lattice method to cope with these problems. In place of operations-based elliptic curve encryption or bilinear pair cryptography, their solution utilises matrix multiplication to create and validate signatures for messages that are shared between drivers.…”

“…Fake news was recently defined as "intended and verifiably false news articles which misinform the audience" [5], [27]- [29]. Due to its interruptive and disappointing nature, as alleged by scientists and professionals, the term "fake news" has garnered somewhat less attention [30], [31]. The most prevalent type of shamming is political, along with false reports based on crimes and misrepresented real-world events.…”
