Abstract:Volumetric modulated arc therapy planning is a challenging problem in high-dimensional, non-convex optimization. Traditionally, heuristics such as fluence-map-optimization-informed segment initialization use locally optimal solutions to begin the search of the full arc therapy plan space from a reasonable starting point. These routines facilitate arc therapy optimization such that clinically satisfactory radiation treatment plans can be created in a reasonable time frame. However, current optimization algorith… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
