“…July (TRW and LW) and March (EW) precipitation (significance level is 95%) for 1901(Trouet & Oldenborgh, 2013 radial growth into EW and LW is an effective way of determining and understanding climatic impacts on oak tree growth in southern Romania, as discussed in previous studies (Rădoane et al, 2015). The statistical variables indicate high values of the inter-annual coherence of radial growth at the stand level associated with the residual series (RES) after standardization due to the maximization of the residual information and the removal of noise.…”

“…The idea is to change these values by “isotopic dilution” using a similar and compatible material with that of the commercial “basket + cap” system, and even to produce in‐house handmade consumables, in order to replace the commercial version for particular situations such as low‐level environmental or biological materials. The most interesting source available during experiments was the pretreated cellulose obtained from Romanian subfossil wood series, whose radiocarbon ages were determined, for some of them, by AMS method in the RoAMS laboratory at IFIN‐HH . This old cellulose, obtained, preserved, and handled under optimal conditions, is virtually devoid of tritium and exhibits a perfectly acceptable carbon‐14 level compared with modern samples of low or slightly radioactive levels, for performing analysis by the LSC method.…”

“…Thus, this quantity in the biosphere is 1. 18 8 × 10 18 Bq. Between 1945 and 1980, 0.2 × 10 18 Bq of carbon-14 was introduced into the atmosphere from nuclear bombs, nuclear tests and nuclear industries".…”

“…These trees may be directly influenced by the measured flows and do not require estimation of naturalized flow. Although riparian tree rings have been widely used for floodplain geomorphological investigations [ Sigafoos , ; Friedman et al ., ; Merigliano et al ., ; Radoane et al ., ], their use in flow reconstructions has been limited [ Cleaveland , ; Meko et al ., ]. Riparian trees can be short‐lived and their growth is unlikely to be correlated with flow if floodplain moisture is abundant.…”
