“…For the comparison, we considered a series of polymer DBRs, where the low refractive index material is a fluorinated polymer ( n L ≈ 1.3), which is one of the lowest indexes available on the market . The high index media are instead cellulose acetate (CA, n ≈ 1.46),[7b] poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA, n ≈ 1.50), polyacrylic acid (PAA, n ≈ 1.51), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, n ≈ 1.52), polystyrene (PS, n ≈ 1.58),[7b] and poly( N ‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK, n ≈ 1.68) . Currently, PVK provides one of the highest refractive index available among commodity polymers thanks to the preresonant enhancement from the carbazole group absorption at about 350 nm .…”

“…These structures are still a hot topic in photonics for optical fibers, light emitting diodes (LEDs), sensors, photovoltaic devices, lasers, discrete and integrated optical components, lightening, and quantum computing . However, new solution processable photoactive materials (e.g., organic semiconductors, quantum dots, hybrid perovskites, and self‐assembling supramolecular systems) stimulated the development of PhCs grown with organic and colloidal materials by solution and melt processes …”

“…One-dimensional multilayer photonic crystals can be fabricated with many fabrication techniques such as sputtering, spin coating, pulsed laser deposition, chemical etching, and molecular beam epitaxy [14][15][16][17][18]. These structures are useful for several applications, for example lasing [15,19], emission control [20][21][22], and sensing [23][24][25]. Herein, we show one-dimensional photonic crystals alternating TaAs with SiO 2 or TiO 2 and a microcavity where a layer of TaAs is embedded between two SiO 2 -TiO 2 multilayers.…”
