“…This electronic structure adds interesting properties to the compound by providing delocalization [2]. In this context, solar cells [3,4], non-linear optics [5], chemical sensors [6], liquid crystals [7], laser dyes [8], photocatalytic [9], catalytic [10], photovoltaic [11], photochromic [12] and photodynamic therapy(PDT) [13,14] are being investigated extensively for obtaining photosensitive agents. Despite these wide uses, there are problems with phthalocyanines that need to be investigated.…”

“…Phthalocyanines (Pcs) are stable molecules against heat, light and solvents. Due to the these properties, they have been used for many years in different fields such as electrical conductivity, optical storage devices, [ 1 ] gas sensors, antioxidant potential, dyes, and pigments, [ 2,3 ] photovoltaic optics, [ 4–6 ] solar cells, [ 7–9 ] laser dyes, [ 10,11 ] chemical sensors, [ 12–15 ] nonlinear optics, [ 16,17 ] semiconductors, [ 18–20 ] liquid crystals, [ 21 ] catalytic activity, electrochromic properties, and paint industries. [ 22,23 ] Also, phthalocyanines are used as an alternative treatment and diagnostic technique for cancer, and are used as photosensitizers in PDT by stimulating electrons from molecular oxygen transferred to reactive single oxygen species (ROS) in tissue.…”

“…Phthalocyanine compounds have strong 18‐π electronic delocalization, thermal, photostability, photophysical, photochemical properties, and visible area optical properties. Their exceptionally properties have encouraged research in other areas, including catalyst, photo dynamic therapy (PDT), electrochromic displaying systems, solar cells, photovoltaic optics, liquid crystals, semiconductors, laser dyes,, chemical sensors, optical storage devices,, non‐linear optics,, dyes and pigments, gas sensors, antioxidant potential ,. It is well known that design of new phthalocyanines strongly affects their properties, applications and performance.…”
