“…Some recent evidence suggests that LLLT would currently appear to be a possible treatment for some patients with different type of oral erosive lesions, guaranteeing an immediate and notable analgesic effect [8][9][10][11][12][13][14]. In particular, in a preliminary report our group reported that LLLT appeared to be a possible treatment for some patients with OLP and can be used as an alternative therapy alongside standard treatment methods, especially for unresponsive patients [13].…”

“…To date, few reports have been published describing the efficacy of laser irradiation in erosive oral mucosal diseases, such as mucous membrane pemphigoid [8][9][10], aphthous stomatitis [11,12], OLP [13] and chronic lichenoid graft-vs.-host disease [14].…”

“…Aimbire et al 33 reported that LLLT, depending on the dose, decreased the TNF‐α levels and acted as an anti–TNF‐α agent. Oliveira et al 34 presented a case report of successful treatment of an MMP patient by using LLLT (with a 660‐nm diode laser) combined with systemic steroids. The patient reported daily use of diaminodiphenyl sulfone, prednisone, and azathioprine over the previous 5 years.…”

“…Oliveira et al. () used PBM therapy (660 nm diode laser, 30 mW, continuous wave, spot size 3 mm, 60 J/cm 2 per session) along with steroids to manage a 47‐year‐old man with cicatricial pemphigoid (CP). The patient was treated twice a week for 6 months and demonstrated complete resolution of his lesions without any signs of recurrence.…”

“…Non-immune disorders involving the epithelium usually have a genetic basis such as epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and are discussed separately. PBM therapy has been used in clinical management of these lesions, and three case reports are highlighted Oliveira et al (2009). used PBM therapy (660 nm diode laser, 30 mW, continuous wave, spot size 3 mm, 60 J/cm 2 per session) along with steroids to manage a 47-year-old man with cicatricial pemphigoid (CP).…”
