Laser-Induced Electron Capture and Acceleration Enhanced by a Modulating Laser Pulse With Different Frequencies

Abstract: Electron acceleration is simulated under the superposition of two co-propagating laser beams. The numerical results indicate that the acceleration effect is clearly enhanced when a modulating field with different frequencies is applied. Our results also show that the modulating field should not be too strong or too weak, and the final energy gain is not sensitive to the wave polarization state of the modulating field.
