Abstract:We have examined the laser extinguishment of a CH 4 -N 2 /Air counterflow diffusion flame. Laser extinguishment is to blow off flames by a laser-induced breakdown. A Qswitched Nd:YAG laser (energy; 200 mJ/pulse) and a 100-mm focal-length lens were used. The laser-extinguishment probabilities were examined by varying the fuel concentration and the distance from the breakdown point to the flame. As a result, the two concentration limits were clarified. One was the laser extinguishable limit, below which the flam… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
