“…The quadrupole is scanned repetitively, and the consecutive scans are summed by a minicomputer. Analysis conditions: Curie-point temperature, 610 °C; temperature rise time, 5 s; total heating time, 10 s; inlet temperature, 200 °C; electron energy, 12 eV; scanning speed, 1000 amu/s; total scan time, 25 s; number of spectra summed, 100.…”

“…The extraction of the pertinent data from the spectra and their interpretation is, however, far more difficult than that from atomic constituents. For a number of synthetic organic polymers, it has already been demonstrated (Gardella et at., 1980;Graham and Hercules, 1982) that important information on the chemical composition, in particular, in relation to the side groups to the backdone polymer structure, can be elicited from the LAMMA spectra. In another attempt to systematically assess this problem for biological matrices, a series of LAMMA investigations of suitably prepared, pure bioorganic substances has been initiated.…”

“…Polyether was better analyzed by 252Cf plasma desorption mass spectrometry (262Cf-PDMS) which effectively produced oligomeric quasi-molecular ions. 10 The spectra obtained by laser mass spectrometry (LMS) [11][12][13] have been effective in identifying the backbone of straight-chain polymers as well as the pendent functional groups present. Percentages of head-to-tail, head-to-head, and tail-to-tail additions of polymers could be obtained by using LMS.…”
