Abstract:Fresnel diffraction dominated fields propagating at glancing angles in a wide planar and rectangular optical waveguides are considered. Both schemes are characterized numerically with multi-harmonic interaction. Resonant effect in terms of the energy gain versus geometry parameter is demonstrated. It is found that adjacent harmonics play a dominant role in the performance at short wavelengths. Performance parameters are calculated for proof-of-principle experiment with moderate laser beam intensities.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
