Large Aneurysmal Rupture of Coronary-Pulmonary Artery Fistula After Buffalo Goring

Abstract: Congenital defects/diseases Background: Coronary-to-pulmonary artery fistulas are congenital coronary anomalies that are often incidentally found and no hemodynamic significance. They are abnormal vessels originating from the coronary artery and terminating into the pulmonary artery, with a tortuous pathway. However, coronary-pulmonary artery fistula associated with coronary artery aneurysm is a rare condition that can cause cardiac death. Case Report: A 55-year-old Thai woman diagnosed with traumatic aortic i… Show more

“…The rupture of the CPAF, which is typically detected incidentally, is also spontaneous. In one study, rupture and cardiac tamponade developed as a result of blunt chest trauma [ 17 ]. In CPAFs, most patients are asymptomatic and do not require special treatment.…”

“…Notably, the incidence of coronary aneurysmal dilatation CPAF patients is around 15-35% [4,6,8]. CPAF with a ruptured coronary aneurysm carries significant mortalities through triggering medical emergencies such as cardiac tamponade or mediastinal hemorrhage [10][11][12].…”
