Laparoscopic Repair of Small Bowel Obstruction Caused by an Intersigmoid Hernia: A Case Report

Abstract: Bowel obstructions can be caused by internal hernias which are protrusions of the bowel into openings within the abdominal cavity. There are various types of internal hernias including sigmoid hernias which involve the sigmoid mesentery. Sigmoid hernias are very difficult to diagnose clinically, even with the aid of radiologic imaging.
