“…Currently, the laparoscopic approach become more commonplace giving a better exposure and visualization of the hernia and its contents thus allows performing out gestures intra-abdominal. Although this approach in compared as the traditional open approach give higher patient satisfaction and a shorter hospital stay (4,11).…”

“…Frequently primary closure of the defect may be effected with non-absorbable, but larger defects may require the use of mesh (11). Monsivais et al (12) used single-incision laparoscopic port with adequate reduction of the hernia, excision of the sac, and applying mesh over the diaphragmatic defect from 2 cm incision.…”

“…Out of the various surgical approaches that can be used in the repair of Morgagni hernia, the transabdominal laparoscopic approach allows for easier reduction of the hernia sac, provides better exposure and visualization of the contralateral diaphragm as well as allows performing simultaneous procedures for other intra-abdominal pathologies. It is as effective as the traditional open approach with shorter hospital stay and higher patient satisfaction [4,8].…”

“…In this case, the patient’s herniated contents included her ascending colon, proximal transverse colon, and half of the small bowel. The patient’s peritoneum was intact resulting in a true hernia sac on the right side and the left side was not involved due to protection provided by the pericardium [7]. Interestingly, this patient had undergone a successful colonoscopy 2 years prior.…”
